Human Rights Due Diligence and Your Business : Brief Updates on Managing and Reporting on Human Rights

About this webinar

Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) is a theme that is now often heard everywhere, spoken by almost everyone. It is an ongoing risk management process used by companies to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for how they address adverse human rights impacts in their operations and supply chains. It is expected that businesses are proactively managing potential and actual adverse human rights impacts with which they are involved. Rooted in the UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs), it requires policy commitment, impact assessment, integration of findings, and transparent reporting where compliance approach has shifted from a voluntary “best practice” to a mandatory Legal requirement driven by laws like the EU’s CSDDD, Germany’s LkSG, and the US UFLPA.

In this occasion, we shall discuss HRDD and explore how it relates to businesses within the context of sustainability strategy, risk management, and reporting in the changing world. We will further continue the discussion by showcasing global trends on managing and reporting on human rights as part of the sustainability reporting framework.
