In Indonesia, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reports that approximately 94% of listed companies have published sustainability reports that include employment-related disclosures. However, this number remains relatively small compared to the more than 3.5 million business entities registered with the Administrasi Hukum Umum (AHU) as of April 2026. Most non-listed companies still limit employment­related disclosures to administrative reporting required by regulators.

Yet employment disclosure carries significant strategic value. It helps build public and investor trust, strengthen corporate reputation, and enhance employee engagement. Without transparency, companies risk losing their social legitimacy, facing allegations of labor rights violations, and falling behind in increasingly sustainability-driven global supply chains.
