Page 113 - SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES & COVID-19
P. 113
In this article, we have offered some future research directions thoughts on how the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic
influences sustainability performance, organizations ethics, and sustainable performance philosophy. This pandemic
offers great opportunities for firms to actively engage in various sustainability initiatives during the crisis, and potentially
catalyse a new era of sustainable development in the long run.
Finally could be concluded this article by asking academic researchers to engage in rigorous studies on the following
research questions. Although the immediate impact of Covid-19 pandemic seems to be evident on sustainability
performance in Indonesian companies, what could be the long-term impact on sustainability and organizations ethical
decision? What are the opportunities and challenges for sustainability in the long run post-coronavirus? How will
Covid-19 change organization sustainability philosophy? Will an outcome of this pandemic be increased incorporation
of social and societal issues into the organizations’ philosophy? In terms of organizational behaviour, there is an urgent
need to explore how corporate and organizations responded (both positively and negatively) to varying lockdown
restrictions, towards more sustainable performance.
